“June” by Banfi – A Song Review

“June” was released in August, but it sat on our list of blogworthy songs for an unjustifiable amount of time. “June” is an energy infusion. Banfi are Joe Banfi (vocals, guitar), Aaron Graham (drums), and Chris McCuaig (bass). The band is based in London.

Lyrics of “June” by Banfi
I’m driving there tomorrow
She’s where I belong
Where the road narrows
She’s where I belong

I’ll tell her why I didn’t feel how she used to feel
When I should’ve consoled her
Those things I should’ve told her
I’ll suffer till I’m old

You need to breathe, honey
Don’t make me let you go
You need to breathe, honey
Don’t make me let you go
You need to breathe, honey
Don’t let this moment steal all the days that we’re yet to know
She’s crossing
She’s crossing, over the fall

Talking to my shadow
She was so alone
Walking through the sorrow
Buried in all our sound
Searching through the quiet fields
Where she used to feel
Like the weather called for her
I used to be the shelter
I’ll suffer till I’m old

You need to breathe, honey
Don’t make me let you go
You need to breathe, honey
Don’t make me let you go
You need to breathe, honey
Don’t let this moment steal all the days that we’re yet to know
She’s crossing
She’s crossing, over the fall

Everybody’s saying I was over-protective
Breaking my heart when I think of her now
Trying to understand why I’d ever forget that trust in her eyes
If the dream’s so dead to me now

Everybody’s saying I was over-protective
Breaking my heart when I think of her now
Trying to understand why she’d only remember
Love that makes her
Love that makes her lose

Love that makes her lose

You need to breathe, honey
(She’s crossing)
Don’t make me let you go
(She’s crossing, over the fall)
You need to breathe, honey
(She’s crossing)
Don’t make me let you go
(She’s crossing, over the fall)
You need to breathe, honey
(She’s crossing)
Don’t let this moment steal all the days that we’re yet to know
Don’t let this moment steal all the days that we’re yet to know
Don’t let this moment steal all the days that we’re yet to know
She’s crossing
She’s crossing, over the fall
She’s crossing
She’s crossing, over the fall
