Free Friday (“FL&R”) – January 13

Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of their releases.  The end of an offer is usually based on the expiration of a set period of time.  But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. The hope is to post at least one FL&R song each Friday.
Golden Age of Ballooning is based in Brisbane, Australia. The members are Eliza Heath, Madi Morris, Samuel Bennett, Jack Bratt, Warren Bingham, and Christopher Boardman.

Lyrics of “So They Say” by Golden Age of Ballooning
So they say,
That our love burns like a fire and I use it as a weapon just to get my way
She's looking kinda tired, I feel kinda tied up
Say baby, why love won't stay?
When living is a riot and you've got all you desire

So they say
What we lost in the summer will live on in the seasons of youth
Memory might break yeah,
Voices on the breeze when you're somewhere overseas
Tell me baby, is there no way now?
We fight in the street where we danced in the summer
Tell me baby, is there no way out?
Dream of the world in arms of your lover

I want to live
I want to die
If I can't make it my own
Is she a gift?
Is she the night that I find my way home?
Say what you want
Draw what you need from it
Return a feeling I've lost

So they say,
that our love burns like a fire and I use it as a weapon just to get my way
She's looking kinda tired, I feel kinda tied up
Say baby, why love won't stay?
When living is a riot and you've got all you desire

I want to live
I want to die
If I can't make it my own
Is she a gift?
Is she the night that I find my way home?
Say what you want
Draw what you need from it
Return a feeling I've lost

Say what you want
Draw what you need from it
Return a feeling I've lost

I can make it my own
Find an easy way out
Return a feeling I’ve lost
Or find an easy way out

Our love burns like a fire and I use it as a weapon

Lyrics of “Wiser” by We The Dreamers
I feel like I woke from a dream
These choices I’ve made are what I truly believe
The most important thing a man decides
We’re given this choice, you better try or hide

But I’ve grown so much since I knew you
My time away has opened my eyes to the truth

I’m a little bit wiser, I know much more
A little bit stronger than I was before
And I’ve been searching so long for a soul like yours
Ooh, I think I love you
So I don’t think I’m ever going to let you go

Now that I woke from this dream that I had from the start
The greatest battle I face is the beating of my own heart

But I’ve grown so much since I knew you
My time away has opened my eyes to the truth

I’m a little bit wiser, I know much more
A little bit stronger than I was before
And I’ve been searching so long for a soul like yours
Ooh, I think I love you
So I don’t think I’m ever going to let you go

I don’t know what I need to be happy
I’d die if I knew that I held your heart too soon

I’m a little bit wiser, i know much more
A little bit stronger than I was before
And I’ve been searching so long for a soul like yours

I’m a little bit wiser, i know much more
A little bit stronger than I was before
And I’ve been searching so long for a soul like yours
Ooh, I think I love you

So I don’t think I’m ever going to let you go

Indie Obsessive rarely posts Ambient tracks. Within the Ambient genre, there are far more knowledgeable bloggers, and we leave the reviews to those bloggers. But the song “Blue Sky” is an exception. At the start of “Blue Sky,” fade-in introduces soft, layered guitars. For a very short time, there is a question of whether one layer is generated by a harp, rather than a guitar. The blend of acoustic with electric guitars achieves a fullness to the sound, but the song isn’t fully textured until other instruments begin making their contributions at the 1:18 mark.
InternalEye is the moniker of Rohit Bhusan, a composer/producer located in India.
