Three for Free, Legal and Recommended (“FL&R”) – The October Version

Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of new releases.  The end of an offer might be based upon reaching a maximum number of downloads or the expiration of some period of time.  But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
For three of first four songs, the final minute is an explosion of instrumentation. So, we caution against judging the songs until you either skip to the last minute or listen to the entire song. Yes, we recognize that the title of "Three for Free..." doesn't reflect a firm grasp of mathematics.
Ex Libras is a London-based trio comprising Amit Sharma (guitar, vocals), Kieran Nagi (keyboards, bass) and Ross Kenning (drums). Their song “”Drive” is embedded below, but we also recommend the other three tracks on the released EP “Woe.” In fact, we may have a slight preference for the song “Leap of Faith.”

Parastatic is also a trio in UK, namely Newcastle upon Tyne. They are Jon Garrard, Neil Caffery and Rachel Casey.
“Saint Mary” is from the album “Recall Fade Return,” which is scheduled for full release on November 13, 2015. The press materials from the band state that the song was inspired by the band’s explorations of the North East coastline and in particular Saint Mary’s Island, home to one of Tyneside’s iconic landmarks, Saint Mary’s lighthouse: “Jon, Neil and Rachel dreamt up the modern day mythology of Saint Mary and the island she presides over, where the broken hearted and lost souls make pilgrimage to seek solace and ultimately reconciliation with their pasts.”

We’re happy to report that the Icelandic music obsession is not fully behind us. Lockerbie is based in Hafnarfjörður/Reykjavík. The members are Davíð Arnar Sigurðsson, Guðmundur Hólm, Rúnar Steinn Rúnarsson, Þórður Páll Pálsson, and Hafsteinn Þráinsson.
“Seyðisfjörður” by Lockerbie – Don’t judge the song without visiting the last segment.

Another London connection – NONTA is an Indie Atmospheric band formed of George Taylor (guitar/keys/backing vocals), Nonta Libbrecht-Carey (vocals/keys), Harry Gill (drums) and Joe Young (bass).
